Disaster Recovery as a service

Your IT systems and your business at any time may be affected by a multitude of accidents, ranging from hardware failures or malicious intrusion, through fire or bursting water pipes, to natural disasters such as earthquakes.

The smallest delays in the operation of IT systems can lead to significant financial losses, impaired reputation and lost the trust of clients. EUnet Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) ensures that your organization is prepared in each of these cases.

Understanding the impact on your business - why you need a DR plan?

DR plan or disaster recovery plan, is more than usual insurance. This is a realistic plan for every event that may substantially affect the ability of a regular job.

Companies are divided into those that have DR plan, and those who do not. In the event of a disaster, companies that do not have a DR plan, are in extremely difficult situation from which it will be very difficult to recover. Companies with a DR plan will also be difficult, but they have the tools with which they can cope with problem.

Without DR plan you risk:

  • violations of the laws and regulations on business
  • permanent loss of important information
  • high costs to attempt recovery
  • loss of income and profitability
  • damaged reputation and loss of customer trust

Benefits for business:

  • significantly lower operating costs (TCO)
  • eligible monthly operating costs
  • rapid and reliable recovery
  • support 24 × 7
  • guaranteed SLA
  • solution expandable optionally

Did you know?

The chances of recovery company after a large loss of data due to disasters are very weak:

  • Only 6% recover
  • 43% do not continue to work
  • 51% is close in the first two years

DRaaS how does it work?

Your production system is constantly replicated over a secure connection to our EUnet Cloud, with the highest possible degree of safety. This allows you, in case of an accident, to activate failover to a replica of your system in EUnet Cloud.

Goal Definition
Recovery Point Objective (RPO) RPO is the volume of data that organizations
can tolerate to lose in the event of a disaster.
Recovery Time Objective (RTO) RTO is the longest time during which a business
process may be unavailable before
Redovno testiranje The process of confirming the validity of the plan,
reveal the necessary changes and ensures that failover can be done efficiently and effectively.

Crossing the functionality of the secondary location (failover)

The break of the IT system can occur in any immediate moment depending on the type and extent of the accident, there are two typical scenarios.

Scenario 1: Physical accident

In case you find the whole building offline (for example due to fire, power failure, etc.),  the entire secondary system will raise, and access will be available to the appropriate users.

Scenario 2: System failure

In the case of hardware failure of the important components of the system, the corresponding secondary servers will be built in EUnet Cloud, and network routing configured, so that users can access them.

Concept “Pay as you spend”

The functioning of the service on a "pay what you spend" allows you to pay only a small part of the resources that you use for replication system. In the event of an accident, you can assign additional resources which are needed to activate the server to a secondary location. Once the system returns to normal operation, these resources can be canceled, thus achieving significant savings compared to conventional DR systems.

Regular testing, which is included in the price, allows you to be confident that the system will function properly at the moment when the need arises for its activation.
